Charlie is in the hors-pital 🐎
Our poor Charlie was feeling sick Friday evening. She wouldn’t eat her food and laid down in her stall.
We put her in the horse trailer and took her to the vet for observation. If she’s ok, we’ll get her Sunday morning. Get well, Charlie!
Oh great, it’s the buzzards! 🐴
The roosters (Hansel, Mildred and Baldy) pay us a visit.
They spent all yesterday in the stable, sheltering from the rain. 🐓
Waste not, want not 🐴
Chavez helps RC finish his hay.
And I help Misty finish her breakfast.
Whether they want help or not. 🐴
The swallows are back! 😺
There were no swallows Sunday morning.
But Monday morning, all the swallows were back! (They do everything all-or-nothing.)
Luigi says, “Aren’t they pretty!”
”Pretty tasty!"
The grass is green and tasty! 🐎
I got another taste of yard grass today, as a Sunday treat.
Misty is allowed to roam free, too.
But she’s being watched, trust me. 🐴
Soggy Thursday afternoon 🐎
Iris says. . . .
"Some people don’t have sense enough to come in out of the rain."![]()
Horse crime 🐎
We opened the gate and let ourselves into the front pasture.
Next time the cat-cops will pull the tarp strap a little tighter. All we did was brush against it and it came loose.
Security chief Luigi wasn’t looking.
Spa treatment 🐔
Today (Tuesday) it is a nasty rainy mess.
Good thing the girls got their dust bath in yesterday.
Happy Henry 🐎
Henry got a nice brushing out in the yard today. Here is his hair all over the grass.
Since he had his fill of this fresh, new grass, he not only looks good; he feels good!![]()
Sojourning buzzard 🐴
This morning we discovered this lovely white pigeon in the lower pasture.
We thought it was sick or hurt, because it let us get close to it (for a bird).
But it stood up.
And gracefully flew out of sight.
Yummy front pasture grass 🐎
We’re finally getting to graze in the front pasture.
Except for Chessie and Iris, as Mara and Lauren are getting them ready for a ride (don’t worry, they’ll have their chance).
Where’s Stormy? Getting a bath from Mary!
Spring is finally here. 🐴
Dope with a rope 😺
Schrödinger spends some quality time with Ukie’s rope.![]()

”Man, this is good rope!” 😺
Nice Tuesday afternoon with warmer weather coming! 🐴
Mara longes Iris before riding. It looks like we’re doing very well!
You’ll also notice, Stormy is working out with Cheyanne, in the riding circle.
Julia and Chavez are a great team. 🐎
Julia rode Chezzie Saturday afternoon, when it was nice and sunny. They both look very happy.
She can ride all by herself in the riding circle.
Mary has taught them to walk, trot, and backup.
See how Julia pulls on the reins, telling Chavez to slowly walk backwards.
Luigi walks on water 😺
It’s ashame that it’s 25℉ in almost the middle of April.
On the bright side, this means the AHF Theatre Guild can present a spring performance of “Cats on Ice.”
Let’s see your pirouette, Luigi. 🐴
Being short has its advantages 🐴
I can munch down in the front pasture whenever I want.
I just slip under the wires.
We all have our unique talents. 🐴
Drug-induced slumber party 🐎
Dr. Dana and her assistant visited us Wednesday⎯to check us up, give us our shots, and grind down our teeth if we needed it. Only Iris and Chavez had to get the dental work, which meant sedation.
Above is Iris in dreamland.
Flower power 🌼
Luigi and Kanna have some flowers to show us.![]()
Now, if it would only warm up and stop raining!
The flared nostrils of shame 🐎
Stormy ran away from Mary while she had him on the lead, leaving her with a nasty blister. Here he is getting a timeout in the riding circle.
Afterwards Mary walked him, and he was very obedient⎯which is his way of saying sorry.
Blustery day 🐴
We had another 60 MPH wind day. Half of our breakfast blew across HWY 6, so we had the rest of it (and our dinner) inside.![]()
Flying Franz 🐓
Zelda visits Franz, with a message.
The message is chickens can’t fly!
Of course, we can, Zelda. Most of us are good short distance flyers.
